See how long your credit card balance will take to pay off if you only make the minimum payment, and how much sooner an extra payment gets you there. Enter the balance and APR from your statement, then pick how your card works out the minimum (it’s in your card agreement). Add what you can afford each month, or tap a preset like Min + $50. You’ll get your debt-free date, the total interest for each plan, and the monthly payment needed to clear the card in 1, 2, 3 or 5 years. It works with any currency, since the math is the same.
How it works: each month the calculator adds interest (balance × APR ÷ 12), subtracts your payment, and repeats until the balance reaches $0. The minimum is worked out again every month from the rule you picked, but never drops below the lowest minimum. The payment to be debt-free in n months is balance × r ÷ (1 − (1 + r)−n), where r = APR ÷ 12. In the US your statement has a “Minimum Payment Warning” box showing your card issuer’s own payoff time, which is a good way to check this estimate.
