Ordered different things? Type what each person had — tap + to add another item to the same person (for example 16+7.50). Put anything the table shared, like appetizers or a bottle of wine, under shared items; that part is split evenly. Enter the tax printed on the receipt (or switch to a tax rate) and pick a tip. The calculator splits the tax and tip in proportion to what each person ordered, so nobody pays tax and tip on someone else’s steak. Shares are rounded to the cent and always add up to the bill. Turn on rounding if everyone wants to pay in whole dollars.

Check that the food subtotal matches your receipt before everyone pays. Tipping customs vary by country.

How it works: each person’s food = their own items + an equal slice of the shared items. Tax and the tip (tip % × food subtotal, or × subtotal + tax if you choose) are then split in the same ratio as the food, so someone who ordered twice as much pays twice as much tax and tip. Amounts are rounded to the cent and the leftover cents go to the largest fractions, so the shares add up exactly to the total.
